antennas alternative

Many traditional floats, or English from an antenna mounted 4.5 mm, so you can replace a starlite at nightfall, without replacing the entire line.
are usually full of plastic and have a length slightly greater than that of starlite.
If we raise the visibility of our craft, we can easily build antennas that alternative at the same weight, have the advantage of being the longest, as empty inside.
These antennas are made from a straw with a diameter of 4.5 mm of those that are within the spray of glass cleaners, degreasers, etc.. (I have taken from an empty bottle of chante clair). After cutting the pieces fit properly, you have to close the end, I did colandoci hot glue, and once they are finished with sandpaper, you have to make them opaque with fine paper because the color will stick.
The fluorescent color can be found in shops selling art supplies, decoupage etc.. and dilute with water, yet will be resistant when dry.
In the images is not obvious, but seen from the truth these antennas are much more conspicuous as the original, and being transparent in when they are exposed to the sun appear to light, especially red ones, with only one coat.
For the yellow, it is advisable to two hands, or giving a first coat of white will be very visible in low light conditions like dawn or after sunset.
